A Festival Floating Feast...A Taste of Modern History
Experience traditional, regional food on ‘A Taste of Modern History’ dinner cruise.
To celebrate the launch of A Taste of Modern History, a historical recipe book journey through North West cuisine; join us on a specially chartered boat that takes you along the Irwell towards the Manchester Ship Canal, where you’ll be served with a welcome drink and three-course meal from one of the North West’s top chefs, Robert Owen Brown, executive head chef of the Mark Addy (one of this year's MFDF Restaurant of the Year Nominees).
Dinner will be based on the recipe book, which features 22 dishes inspired by the history of the region. Between courses guests will enjoy a personalised commentary from our on-board tour guide, who'll shine a spotlight on the waterside sights en-route to The Quays.
The menu consists of ...
** Starters ** Pressed pork pate with apple honey chutney
** Main Course ** Hindle wakes organic chicken with prune and almonds
** Dessert** Spiced chorley cakes with clotted cream
