New to the Manchester Food and Drink Festival for 2011 is Come Drink with Metrolink which takes place on Saturday 15 October. The event gives wine lovers the opportunity to enjoy a tipple and canapés at a range of wine bars, restaurants and venues across the Metrolink network while learning more about the beloved grape.

Whether a fan of white, red, rosé or a bit of bubbly, Come Drink with Metrolink allows participants to taste a variety of wines and quickly become a connoisseur with the advice of industry experts

Hosted by the city's award-winning Green Badge tour guides imparting local knowledge throughout the city, the event will start in Deansgate where drinkers will be treated to glass of wine at Evuna before travelling along Metrolink's South Manchester line, stopping at gorgeous Harvey Nichols, Grill on New York St, and Chorlton’s award winning North Star Deli. Metrolink is providing free tram travel throughout the tour and home so wine lovers can enjoy the event safely.

12pm – 5/6pm Saturday 15 October – city centre and South Manchester

Tickets for Come Drink with Metrolink cost £25 per person and include tram travel.

Metrolink offers hassle-free travel throughout greater Manchester. Adult weekend saver tickets cost just £5, with families enjoying unlimited travel along the network with a family weekend saver ticket, costing just £7.
