Manchester Veg People Presents
The Manchester Field Trip meet local growers, hear more about seasonality, and walk through the fields of the producers. Take this opportunity to ask the growers about their produce and have a munch on some salad leaves or celery. A must for fresh food fanatics!
This is an event especially prepared for chefs from Manchester's restaurants and catering establishments. It will be hosted to coincide with Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's cooking demo (where he'll be using veg grown on these farms) so it will be an early start and then back to Albert Square for lunchtime!
Meet on the steps of the town hall in Albert Square at 8.25am and load into the bus. We will meet with Moss Brook Growers at their site and chat about their crops and we may even have a munch on some celery. Then off to Dunham Massey Organics where we'll have a chat to Chris about what he grows and then head off to Glebelands City Growers, have a brew and a look around their speciality salad growing operation, glasshouses and tunnels and have a brew there before heading back to Albert Square for 12.30, inspired by what's happening right on our doorstep and what talented fruit and veg growers we have right here on our doorstep! Places for this event are limited to get a shufty on and book in!
