Truly Good Food Day
A visit from Hugh has inspired a whole day dedicated to the enjoying of delicious yet sustainable food,sponsored by Food Futures, pioneers of healthy and sustainable food and a partnership between the City Council, the NHS and local communities.

Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall takes of the Live Cookery Theatre
One of the UK’s most talented food writers and broadcasters, passionate
champion of local, seasonal and ethically sourced food, and of course creator of delicous dishes, we’re delighted to announce that Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall is to head north for MFDF this Autumn. This is a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with one of food’s most exciting and innovative figure heads. Guests will watch Hugh perform a live cookery demonstration, get to ask their own questions as part of the audience Q and A, then buy a signed copy of his new book.

Jam and Chutney Making Classes with Cracking Good Food
Jam and chutney making classes take place in two sessions at the Hub thanks to collaborators Cracking Good Food. CGF are a community cooking group based in Chorlton, and they’re working with Trove Foods, a newly established organic and sustainable food business based in Levenshulme to offer Festival goers the chance to make jam and chutney using seasonal, organic food sourced locally. Each session lasts an hour and a quarter in groups of 12. Please bring your own jar to fill and take home with you. www.crackinggoodfood.org

Manchester Veg People Presents:
The Manchester Field Trip Meet local growers hear more about seasonality, walk through the fields of the local producers. Ask the growers about their produce and have a munch on some salad leaves or celery. A must for fresh food fanatics!
