Veltins Oktoberfest in Association with Lufthansa

Celebrate October German-style with MFDF’s tribute to the Munich Oktoberfest, sponsored by Lufthansa and award-winning German beer brand Veltins at the Festival Hub. This event returns in 2011 with its own dedicated Bierkeller on the Square. Entry is completely free and visitors will find authentic German beer on sale, as well as live entertainment for five fun-filled days.

Beer is provided by Veltins, one of Germany’s oldest and most established brauereis, and steins of their refreshing pilsner will be the order of the day. Clean and herbal, this beer is a perfect illustration of how to balance delicate malt with lots of tangy hops. The result is a seriously drinkable beer, awarded best pilsner at the 2007 World Beer Awards. To tantalise your taste buds further, Oktoberfest partners Kro will be serving Traditional Bavarian and German sharing platters of meat and sauerkraut – the perfect complement to those hoppy flavours.

Expect musical accompaniment throughout, bringing Oktoberfest to life. There will be performances by local brass bands, as well as authentic Bavarian ensembles and more besides.

The Oktoberfest experience will be topped off with chances to win flights to Munich to visit the city’s famous Christmas Markets, courtesy of German airline Lufthansa.
