Manchester's food and drink culture is thriving, from street food to fine cuisine the city's dining at a more diverse table than ever but how do you get started in a notoriously difficult business sector?

The Business & IP Centre Manchester host a panel discussion featuring Food & Drink Festival award nominees as they share the secrets of their success. You'll get the chance to hear their story, ask them questions, pick up top tips and learn the tricks of the trade.

On October 2nd at The Fairfield Social Club, compèred by Jason Bailey, Director of Grub Mcr, winner of last year's Best Pop-Up Event.

On the panel:

Michael De Martis - Co-owner of Sugo Pasta Kitchen, nominated in 3 of this year's categories, Restaurant of The Year, Casual Restaurant of the Year and Out of Town Restaurant of the Year. Sugo have enjoyed 4 successful years serving their Southern Italian menu in Altrincham and have opened a second site in the Ancoats this June.

Chelsea Campbell - Owner of Vegan streetfood caterers Wholesome Junkies and star of the recent BBC TV show "Million Pound Menu", Chelsea is nominated in this year's Street Food Trader of the year category. Wholesome Junkies aim is to prove that vegan food need not be bland or boring.

Jonny Heyes - Co-owner of Common, which opened in the Northern Quarter in 2004, has since gone on to open Port Street Beer House (nominated for this year's Pub of the year), The Pilcrow Pub, The Beagle in Chorlton and The Independent Manchester Beer Convention.

Aarti Pandey - owner of Chaat Cart winner of last year's street food vendor of the year, Aarti made a name for herself with years of grafting at markets and festivals before opening her permanent venue in Marple last summer, nominated for this year's Best Vegetarian Offering.
