MFDF 2011 Award Winners Announced plus, the end of another great Festival!
This year the Gala Dinner and Awards were held at the Prestigious Lowry Hotel, and nominees and friends of the festival alike donned their glad rags and came to celebrate the finale of the 14th Annual MFDF.
Presented by BBC Radio Manchester Hosts Becky Want and Matt White, the city's culinary heroes were rewarded for their contribution to the gastronomic landscape. Amongst the winners were ramsons of Ramsbottom (Restaurant of the Year), and Aumbry of Prestwich (Chef of the Year). City Centre haunts also received accolades in the shape of Best Wine List (Harvey Nichols), and Best Newcomer (Cittchetti) with a special mention going to Dimitri Griliopoulos of Dimitri's Restaurant for his outstanding achievement to the food and drink industry. The latter award was renamed The Howard and Ruth Award for Outstanding Achievement in memory of the late, great Howard Raynor of World Class Service and Ruth Cooper from Manchester City Council.
