MFDF 2019 Awards Winners!
The winners of the 2019 Manchester Food and Drink Festival (MFDF) Awards have been announced at the prestigious MFDF Gala Dinner ceremony held at Gorton Monastery.
The much sought after awards celebrate the restaurants, bars, street food pop ups, coffee shops and individuals who ensure that Manchester’s Food and Drink industry is one of the most prolific in the UK. The city is home to a vast assortment of eateries and places to enjoy a drink and the 22nd Festival has played host to many of them.
There are 18 awards in total and that includes two new categories: Artisan Drinks Producer of the Year and Vegan Offering of the Year. The Artisan Drinks Producer award recognises the explosion of innovative and exciting independent drinks producers starting up right here in the region and the Vegan Offering of the Year has replaced MFDF’s previous Vegetarian Award. This revised category reflects Manchester’s commitment and dynamism in the plant-based eating scene and was also reflected in the Hub with a Vegan Takeover for one day.
The shortlist was decided by the MFDF judging panel that includes the region's leading food and drink experts. The nominations for each category were posted on the MFDF website where the public voted for their favourite and those votes were combined with scores from the judging panel obtained via mystery shop visits.
