12:30 - Sean Sutton, Alderley Restaurant

When boyish-looking Sean took over the head chef role last year at the 3 AA Rosette Alderley Restaurant at The Alderley Edge Hotel he was hardly new to the kitchens. For most of the nine years his predecessor Chris Holland had been at the stove, Sean, now 32, had been at his side helping maintain impressive standards of culinary finesse. His food heroes include Ferran Adriá who pioneered molecular gastronomyat ‘world’s best restaurant’ El Bulli in Spain. Sean’s not averse to a spot of ‘molecular’ himself to add ‘wow factor’ and he’s big on presentation. too. A young chef to watch.

I'm never gonna say, 'I don't think I can.' I can and I will.”  That was after capturing the nation’s hearts by baking a a multi-layered presentation showstopper which took the form of ‘My Big Fat British Wedding Cake’. What’s not to like?
