MFDF 2010 'Independent and Local Wine Festival' Announced!

Following on from the success of last year, the Independent and Local Wine Festival is back for another year.

In 2009, Manchester Food and Drink Festival founded the first 'Independent and Local Wine Festival', as one of the MFDF opening highlight events. The Urbis played host to this fabulous event which gave a chance for serious wine enthusiasts, professionals and novices alike to come together to enjoy fantastic wine from local and independent retailers.

It gave a unique opportunity to taste some of the most exclusive, exciting and unusual wines from the region’s most passionate and expert retailers.

The event was hugely popular and so in 2010, we are pleased to announce that the Wine Festival will be taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th of October, at the newly refurbished People’s History Museum, on Bridge Street, Manchester, M3 3ER.

Continuing the tradition started last year at the first MFDF Wine Festival at Urbis, The People’s History Museum will provide another iconic, local and unusual venue for the event. The museum has just undergone a £12.5m refurbishment, and is a wonderful, dramatic and accessible venue.

There will be 2 sessions per day and masterclasses and tutored tastings will also run throughout the day.

More event information will be released soon.
